Cisteller is the life project of winemakers Jessica Madigan and Sergi Canals, born in 2022. Their new and efficient winery, set in the family estate of el Sot (Muntanyes d’Ordal), is a space dedicated to exploring the terroir through the most emblematic variety of the calcareous Penedès: Xarel·lo. Their approach to winemaking is one of absolute respect for the terroir, seeking to highlight the purity and character of the calcareous marine soils and minimizing practices that could interfere with the texture of the resulting wines. With Cisteller, Canals and Madigan join Corpinnat in their journey to redefine the identity of Penedès sparkling wines, strictly respecting the traditional method but with the will to provide a fresh perspective after working for years in some of the world's great wine-growing areas. From the basis of shared experiences and concerns, they form a lively and dynamic team, working side by side in every aspect of the project, from viticulture to the production of all their wines. Cisteller wines seek a balance between the intellectual and hedonic aspects.
